Top 5 Beer Capitals of Europe

With such a varied amount of cultures, languages and influences- Europe is a fascinatingly diverse place to visit. Whether you're traveling with the family, or going with the guys/girls for your Stag/Hen do, Birthday or celebration- something that will draw in the dads to the dudes... Europeans have an immense love for beer!!
Whilst almost every European country has it's own national beer, here is a list of what WE consider the top 5...

1. Bruges
Yes, we all know that Belgium is famous for it's mouth-wateringly divine chocolate. BUT for all you that have a taste for something a little more refreshing, you need to try it's Beer.
Belgium produce more than 350 types of beers. This region of Belgium is responsible for the lambic beer – a beer produced by spontaneous fermentation, often with the addition of various fruits.
Start your beer tasting journey with a visit to Brugs Beertje (Little Bear) bar, where you can taste and enjoy literally hundreds of Brews of Bruges' Beer (try saying that outloud and ten times faster!)
And then move on to try breweries such as De Halve Maan (makers of Bruges Zot) and the De Gouden Boom Brewery.

2. Prague

with 156 liters per capita per year, it's safe to say that Czechs are the most avid of all European drinkers- thus making Czech famous for it's beer! The biggest players in the local beer industry are Pilsner Urquell, Gambrinus, Budvar and Bernard. Klášterní pivovar Strahov (Strahov Monastery Brewery) is an excellent place to explore the Czech’s beer history, with a tradition dating back to the 17th century.
Novoměstský pivovar (The New Town Brewery) has some great food and delicious beers that will leave you burping of joy. Don’t miss the stronger, dark beers, with as much as 12% alcohol.

3. Amsterdam
The Netherlands is home to the famous Heineken and you’ll see this brand proudly displayed all over Europe! The Dutch offer an exciting range of bars and brewery's if you want to uncover the fascinating history of Dutch beer. When the clock strikes Beer O'clock, start with a visit to a superb little bar offering a selection of around 200 beers- Wildeman. And for your other Beer stops try Beiaard, offering over 60 refreshing and tasty beers- and Arendsnet, for a more unique taste.

4. Munich
Oktoberfest! Munich is full of exciting all year round attractions for all you beer lovers. An experience you should not miss is the beautiful beer gardens – small islands of relaxation in the urban jungle, where you can enjoy traditional Bavarian golden drinks. Head on down to the Beer Garden Augustiner Keller, Munich’s oldest, the Aumeister or the Hischgarten. Visit the big breweries such as Löwenbräu, Augustinerbräu or Hofbräuhaus for a firsthand experience of authentic German lager.
5. Copenhagen
What springs to mind when you hear the words København or Denmark? Tuborg or Carslberg! But if you’re looking for something more than what you know from home, know that this is the country with the most micro-breweries per capita in Europe since 2005.
The recently opened ‘Jacobsen’, a new brew house in Varby that aims to showcase beer culture and produce a rare variety of beers. Or if you want to sample special brews, head down to the Vesterbro Bryghus, Nørrebro Bryghus or Brewpub.

Weirdest Hangover Cures...

How to cure the hangover from hell. We've heard of some crazy tips for hangover cures...but these really shocked us. Share with us your hangover cure, however wild and wacky- if it works then we want to know! Prepare yourself for some weird and wonderful morning after ideas...

Germany- The Germans like to pickle things. They SWEAR by a breakfast they call ''katerfruhstuck'', which is supposedly the ultimate hangover cure. It's a pickled herring wrapped around pickled cucumber and onions.

Japan- The Japanese, with their strong tastebuds- eat dried sour plums called ''umeboshi''.

Poland- The Polish swear by drinking a glass of brine from a jar of sour pickles. Mmm.

UK- Us Brits swear by a hearty, good ol' Bacon Sarnie. With brown sauce and butter. Cured.

BUT the winner, with the strongest stomachs of all, are the Mongolians. They swallow pickled sheep eyeballs mixed with tomato juice.
We're not entirely sure how accurate these remedies work...so here's some scientific advice for you!!
